The picture above is Camilla, from Sweden and she’s a huge Simple Plan Fan! She’s the first person to own the FIRST puzzle piece that is directly linked into the one owned by Simple Plan! Her mother got her the puzzle piece for her 13th birthday!

All we wanna say is HAPPY BIRTHDAY as well and CONGRATS for having the first piece of the puzzle!

Also there are still five (5) more pieces that are directly linked to the one owned by Simple Plan.

Each puzzle piece comes with a certificate of authenticity that is hand signed by all the members of the group.

Each new piece is put on sale for 10 days and starts on a Sunday and ends on a Wednesday.

All the money raised will go to the Simple Plan Foundation.

Thanks to a Simple Plan Foundation’s donation, Beaubois College, which is –by the way- the alma mater of four among the five members of the group, was able to buy a brand new barytone saxophone for use of its music students.

A few weeks ago we posted an article about a special project with an 18,000 piece puzzle.

Well we received an email from Michel who’s in charge of this project and here is what he had to say!

The group now own 6 piece in this gigantic puzzle that is now literally “peacing” the world together.

In order to raise money for their foundation, the group hand signed the 10 certificates of the 10 puzzle pieces that are directly linked into the pieces they own.

Each piece will sold in a auction on e-bay.
All profits go to the Simple Plan Foundation.

Starting this Sunday (Jan 11 2009) 1 piece will be sold in a 10 days auction, each two Sunday.

This puzzle is growing in the Montreal Police Headquarters, filled with words and messages from people around the world.

At the Bell Center, sept 13, just before the show in Montreal, the members of the group hand signed the six pieces they owned in this very special puzzle.

To thanks their fans and to raise money for their foundation, they give you the chance to bid on a puzzle piece that is DIRECTLY LINKED into the one owned and signed by the group.

The members of the group also hand signed the 8½ x 11 certificate of authenticity you will receive that give you the number and position of your piece in the master puzzle.

Ce puzzle grandit au quartier général de la Police de Montréal. Jusqu’à maintenant, plus de 300 morceaux sont signés par des gens de 13 pays.

Du même coup, le groupe a réservé une surprise de taille à ceux qui ont envie de ” refaire le monde ” avec eux.

En effet, sur les 18,240 morceaux qui composent le puzzle mondial du projet “NIDANAY”, ce morceau ( #364 ) est le quatrième des dix morceaux qui est DIRECTEMENT RELIÉ à ceux du groupe.

Il est accompagné d’un certificat d’authenticité au format 8½ x 11 spécialement autographié par les membres du groupe !

Lava/Atlantic recording group Simple Plan has announced details surrounding their upcoming iTunes Store single, “Save You.” Net proceeds from each download sale will be distributed to cancer charities around the world, through the Montreal-based band’s own Simple Plan Foundation. “Save You” – which is also found on Simple Plan’s self-titled third studio album – will be released worldwide via iTunes, available in the U.S. and Canada on October 14th.

“Save You” was penned in tribute to lead singer Pierre Bouvier’s brother Jay, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer at the age of 28. Thankfully now in remission, Bouvier’s illness inspired the band to include cancer awareness as one of the initiatives of the Simple Plan Foundation. Thus far, the Foundation has donated over $100,000 to various charitable organizations around Canada and has raised over another $200,000 at various benefit events. In addition, Simple Plan has donated portions of their merchandise sales as well as 50 cents from each ticket sold on their recent and forthcoming tours. “After what happened to someone so close to us, we feel that, as a band, we had to do something to help,” explain Simple Plan in a statement. “We should get involved and use our voice to make a difference in the fight against cancer.”

In addition to the “Save You” single, a special companion video is currently in production. The clip will feature appearances from cancer survivors from all walks of life, including such famous faces as Sharon Osbourne, Marissa Winokur (of the original Broadway production of Hairspray), Barenaked Ladies’ Kevin Hearn, and Saku Koivu (captain of the NHL’s Montreal Canadians).

The philanthropic effort behind “Save You” is the result of a partnership between Simple Plan, iTunes, Lava/Atlantic, and Warner/Chappell Music, the song’s publisher. The donation period begins on October 14th and continues through January 31st, 2009.

Today, Simple Plan is proud to present their brand new video for the song “Save You”. PerezHilton.com will be world premiering the clip on his website and Chuck will be on hand in the MuchMusic environment in Toronto to debut the clip on MuchOnDemand.

While you may already know about the song, you may not know the whole back story behind the song, and behind the video.

cancer charities in the country of the download, hopefully getting us one step closer to eradicating this disease once and for all.

When at Montreal for their show at the Bell Centre at the end of summer 2008, the members of Simple Plan have participated in the “Nidanay” project by signing several pieces of a giant puzzle that contains 18 240 of them. Each piece is numbered, then sold, and the profits go to different charitable organizations. It shows that even “a small action, joining the others to become whole”, helps to change the world!

Within the context of its fundraising campaign, the summer camp “La Colonie des Grèves de Contrecoeur” organized, at the beginning of September, a summer fiest, including different activities. The Simple Plan Foundation has given an autographed photosigned by all the members of the group for the auction fundraiser.
