Vancouver, BC: Musical icon, Bob Ezrin announces that more than 50 of the country’s best and brightest young artists gathered today at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver to record a song dedicated to the recovery efforts in earthquake ravaged Haiti.

The song, a rendition of hip-hop artist, K’naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” will be released in the coming weeks with proceeds going to Free The Children, War Child Canada and World Vision Canada.

“With the wealth of young artists coming out of Canada, it was obvious that this is something we had to do,” says Ezrin. “K’naan’s lyrics in Wavin’ Flag embody the pain, passion and determination of the Haitian people and lend the hope of a brighter future. The response from the artists has been sensational, and I am so proud that together we may help to make a difference.”

Joining the thousands who came together to lend a helping hand, Simple Plan was on hand to show their support for Haiti. The guys were part of two big fundraisers in Canada, “Canada for Haiti” as well as well as “Ensemble pour Haiti” in Quebec.

Through their Simple Plan foundation, the guys also took the opportunity to do their small part and donated a cheque for $10,000 in hopes that other artists, businesses and individuals will follow suit and donate for Haiti.

December is finally here, and the holidays are almost upon us!

We hope you guys have been enjoying the last few months of ‘09.

If you’ve been following the band’s twitter streams at @simpleplan, @pierrebouvier, @officialSPChuck, and @seblefebvre you’d know that the band has been busy writing for the new album.

The band has been so inspired that the writing process for this album is just flowing! The band will be entering the studio to record their new songs early 2010 and hope to have a new record out before the end of next year! They’re all looking forward to sharing the songs with you in the New Year. I’m sure the guys will start dropping clues to as what to expect for the new album, so make sure you visit the site, follow their twitters, and hit up their Myspace regularly!

It’s been a while since we updated you on the family members.

Simple Plan: The guys are getting busy writing new songs as you probably know if you follow them on twitter.

Mobile: Same thing for the Montreal boys. As we speak, they are fine tuning the songs that will be on their 3rd album. Check out their webstore to get their merch.

October Sky: Will be playing the National in Montreal on November 28th before flying to the UK for a show in London on December 13th.

Okay, okay, enough talking about others, let’s talk about RM. The October/Novemberfest is over BUT, we heard you and we listened. You liked the new webstore setup (categorized per prices), so we kept it. We also kept items starting at 5$. This is for the old stuff. Now, the newbies …
